Gillette Labs Heated Razor
As part of Tag, I was approached by Gillette directly to design the launch displays for their new Hi-Tech Premium Razor. The designs were approved by Global overnight and went straight to production level prototyping and approval. The product launch/delivery date for the displays was already tight - then the Global Pandemic hit Australia.
To mitigate both offshore and local supply issues, enormous freight prices and delays we produced over 100 small premium counter units in 2 weeks. The Trays and Floorstands were completed 3 weeks later, but weren’t sent out until later in 2020 due to nationwide lockdowns and temporary store closures.

Due to supplier shortages and logistic issues I had to be creative to meet our tight deadline. I had a local company in Melbourne do all the metalwork - removing any complex forming or welding so we could assemble with rivets onsite. All the branding is white transfer vinyl, cut and applied on our site. The acrylic and digital screens were acquired and assembled by our offshore supply chain in China. The compact size and light weight meant we could airfreight a them in bulk at an affordable price - within budget.
All final fitting, laminating, offset & UV printing was done in our prototype/production facility to ensure we could work through the night to deliver our deadline. The project became a case study used by Popcorn & Tag for what could still be achieved by POS producers in the midst of total shutdown & supplier shortages we had seen.
